Sports massage in Dubai, timed to your training block.
A sports massage is deep, targeted work on the muscles you actually load — to help you recover from training and keep moving well, not to relax you. We bring it to your home, hotel or apartment across Dubai Marina, JBR, Bluewaters, Emaar Beachfront and Palm Jumeirah.
The part most services skip: when you book matters as much as what you book. A session three days before a race and a session mid-block are not the same session.

What it does, and what it does not
Straight about what the evidence supports.
Sports massage uses firm, direction-specific pressure on named muscle groups to ease post-training soreness and restore range of motion. It is a recovery tool, not a cure, and being straight about the difference is the most useful thing we can tell you before you book.
What the evidence supports. The best-supported effect is on delayed onset muscle soreness — the ache that arrives a day or two after hard training. A 2017 systematic review in Frontiers in Physiology (Guo et al.) found massage reduced soreness at 24, 48 and 72 hours, with the largest effect at 48 hours. Evidence also suggests improved flexibility and range of motion. We say evidence suggests rather than proven deliberately — those authors flag that the underlying trials were small and varied in quality.
What it will not do. It will not make you stronger; the research is consistent that massage does not increase force production. It does not “flush lactic acid” or “release toxins” — lactate clears from your blood on its own within about an hour of stopping. You will see that claim on massage websites across Dubai. It is not true, and we would rather you knew.
And it is not treatment for an acute injury, a diagnosis, or nerve pain. If something is sharp, swollen, or getting worse, see a doctor or physiotherapist first — that is a different job from ours.
Where you are in your training cycle decides the session
This is the question no other sports massage page in Dubai asks, and it is the one that changes what your therapist actually does.
- Mid-block, training hard. Deeper, more specific work on whatever your programme is hammering. This is where most of the value sits.
- Taper week. Lighter. The goal is to feel loose and normal, not worked over.
- Race week. Lighter still, and nothing new. Race week is the wrong time to discover how a technique feels.
- Post-race. The session most people under-use. Soreness relief peaks around 48 hours, so the day after is usually better than the same evening.
- Deload week. The best window for genuinely deep restoration work, because you have the recovery days to absorb it.
- Off-season. Whatever has been quietly compensating all year — usually hips, usually a shoulder.
Fayal adjusts on exactly this basis. She works to periodisation the way a coach does: lighter recovery work before a race, deeper restoration work during a deload week. Periodisation is not a word you will find on another sports massage page in Dubai, and it is the difference between a session that fits your week and one that ignores it. Tell her where you are in your block when you book.
The techniques, by name
Every one of these is something Fayal or Maria actually works in — the names are on their own therapist profiles, not borrowed from a textbook.
- Cross-fibre friction. Short strokes worked across the grain of a tendon or muscle fibre rather than along it. Used where tissue has thickened.
- Sustained myofascial release. Slow, deep pressure held on one point until the fascia gives. The waiting is the technique.
- Trigger-point work. Direct pressure on a tight, referring point until it releases.
- PNF stretching. You contract against the therapist’s resistance, then relax, and the muscle lengthens further than it would passively. Effective on stubborn hamstrings and hip flexors.
- Petrissage and forearm compression. Kneading and broad sustained pressure to move blood through a muscle belly — staples of the Russian sports tradition Maria trained in.
- Muscle energy technique. A gentler relative of PNF, used around joints rather than long muscles.
What actually gets worked
Quadriceps for cyclists and anyone squatting heavy. Hamstrings, the classic runner’s complaint and where PNF earns its place. Glutes, chronically underworked in desk-bound bodies then asked to do everything on a Saturday. Calves and Achilles for running volume. Hip flexors — the desk-and-training combination that describes most of Dubai. IT band and lateral thigh, for knee pain that is not actually a knee problem. Lumbar erectors for deadlifts and long flights. Rotator cuff and upper back for swimmers, padel players and boxers. Forearm and elbow for racquet sports and grip-heavy lifting.
Is sports massage good for lower back pain? For muscular lower back pain from training load or sitting, yes — the work goes into the lumbar erectors and glutes. For pain that is sharp, shoots down a leg, or has not been diagnosed, see a clinician first. We would rather turn the booking away than work on something that needs imaging.

By sport
What tightens, and what we work.
A sports massage is regional, not full-body by default. Sixty focused minutes on three areas does more than a lap of the whole body. Tell us what you have been loading and that is where the hour goes.

Pricing
What a sports massage costs in Dubai.
Almost nobody on this search publishes a price — we checked the pages currently ranking and the clinics show neither a rate nor a session length. Here is ours, both ways, so there is nothing to discover at the end.

How the session runs
Assessment first, then the work.
Message us on WhatsApp
Send your area, the time, 60/90/120, what is bothering you — and where you are in your training block. That last part changes the session.
First 5 minutes: assessment
What you train, what hurts, how firm you want it. Fayal starts every session this way and it shapes the whole hour.
40–45 minutes: the work
Two or three regions, properly. Cross-fibre friction, sustained myofascial release and trigger-point work, with pressure agreed at the start.
Last 10–15 minutes: integration
Lighter strokes and passive stretching, so you do not stand up feeling like you have been in a fight. Then water, and keep heavy training clear for a day.
Who does the work
Named therapists, with their training on their own pages.
Most sports massage pages in Dubai say “certified therapists” and name nobody. Ours are named. Ask for either by name when you book — and tell her where you are in your training block.
Before you book
When you should not book a sports massage.
Fever or active infection
See a doctor, not a therapist. Massage is not appropriate while you are fighting an infection.
An acute injury in the last 48 hours
A fresh strain, tear or impact needs assessment first. We will decline the booking.
Sharp pain, or pain down a leg
Sharp, shooting or numb pain, or anything undiagnosed, needs a clinician. That is a different job from ours.
Tell us first
Pregnancy, recent surgery, a clotting disorder or blood-thinning medication. We will adapt or decline honestly.
Good to know
Sports massage in Dubai: your questions.
What is a sports massage?
A sports massage is firm, region-specific soft-tissue work aimed at recovery from training and at keeping you moving well. Massage Dubai Marina delivers it at home across Dubai in 60, 90 or 120 minutes, from AED 400 excluding VAT.
Is this a legitimate therapeutic service?
Yes. This is professional therapeutic massage only, delivered by trained therapists working under a licensed business, with standard draping throughout. Any request outside that scope ends the booking immediately.
How much does a sports massage in Dubai cost?
AED 400 for 60 minutes, AED 550 for 90 and AED 680 for 120, excluding 5% VAT — AED 420, 577.50 and 714 including it. Travel, the table, fresh linen and oils are included, with no call-out fee in our core areas and no late-night surcharge.
Do I have to be an athlete?
No. Most people who book us train recreationally, sit at a desk all week, or both. The technique suits any body under load — and a desk is a load.
Is sports massage the same as deep tissue?
No. Both use firm pressure, but sports massage is organised around your training and worked region by region, while deep tissue is organised around long-standing tension in the back, neck and shoulders. Book sports massage if the tightness follows your programme.
Does a sports massage hurt?
It should feel like work and never sharp. If you cannot keep breathing normally through a stroke, the pressure is too high — say so and it comes down. Fayal’s standing line is: tell me if this crosses from uncomfortable to painful.
Will I be sore afterwards?
Mild soreness for 24 to 48 hours is normal after deep work. It should feel like the dull ache after a good training session, not a sharp or new pain. Keep heavy training clear for about a day and drink more water than usual.
When should I book around a race?
After is the better-supported answer — soreness relief peaks around 48 hours, so the day after your event is a good window. Before a race we keep the work light, not because massage will slow you down, but because deep work can leave you sore and race week is not when you want to find that out.
How often should I get a sports massage?
Every two to three weeks is a reasonable maintenance rhythm. Inside a heavy training block, every seven to ten days does more.
Can I get a sports massage at home in Dubai?
Yes — sports massage at home is the only way we work. A therapist reaches Dubai Marina, JBR, Bluewaters, Emaar Beachfront and Palm Jumeirah in 20 to 30 minutes with a professional table, linens and oils, at any hour.
What should I wear?
Shorts, or whatever you would train in. Draping covers everything that is not being worked on. You need about two metres of clear floor.
Will my therapist be a woman?
Yes. All six of our therapists are women. If you need a male therapist, message us before booking and we will tell you honestly what is available.
