The treatment

What Prenatal and Postnatal Massage in Dubai actually is.

Prenatal massage is a normal massage adapted in three specific ways: how you lie, how firm the work is, and which areas the therapist avoids. Everything else — the table, the linen, the therapist coming to your door in 20–30 minutes — is the same as any other booking.

You lie on your side, not face down and not flat on your back. From around 20 weeks, lying flat on your back becomes uncomfortable for most women and is generally advised against, so side-lying is what we use throughout. The therapist brings a full set of pillows and bolsters: one under the bump, one between the knees, one supporting the top arm.

We do not use a table with a cut-out for the bump. Those look reassuring and several places in Dubai advertise them, but letting the bump hang through a hole puts strain on the round ligaments and the lower back. Side-lying with proper support is both safer and, once you are settled, considerably more comfortable.

The pressure stays light to medium throughout. Deep work on the calves is avoided entirely, because clot risk is raised during pregnancy and in the weeks after birth.

What changes after the baby arrives

Postnatal massage is a different session with a different target. During pregnancy the ache is in the lower back and hips. Afterwards it moves upward — neck, shoulders, upper back, forearms — because you are now feeding, lifting and carrying for most of the day, usually in the same position.

Timing depends on the birth. After a straightforward vaginal delivery most women are comfortable from around two weeks. After a C-section, wait until at least six weeks and until your doctor has confirmed the scar has healed properly. We will ask which you had when you book, and we would rather delay a session than take one too early.

You can lie face down again once it is comfortable, though plenty of clients stay side-lying for the first few sessions.

Bring the baby — genuinely

Most of our postnatal clients have the baby in the room. Feed, settle, pause the session, carry on. The therapist will work around it and nobody expects an hour of silence. This is one of the practical reasons home massage suits this stage better than a spa does.

Do not book if…

Please do not book if you are in the first trimester, if your doctor has advised against massage, or if you have pre-eclampsia, high blood pressure, a DVT or history of blood clots, vaginal bleeding, a placenta complication, or any sign of early labour.

Sudden swelling in the face or hands is different from the gradual leg swelling that most pregnancies bring. It can be a sign of pre-eclampsia. Do not book a massage — call your doctor.

We are a mobile massage service, not a clinic and not a medical provider. We do not diagnose and we do not treat conditions. If anything about your pregnancy or recovery is worrying you, speak to your doctor or midwife first. We will still be here afterwards.

We already know your building

We deliver to more than 60 towers across Dubai Marina, JBR and the waterfront — Marina Gate, Cayan, Princess, The Torch, Marina Promenade, Elite Residence, Damac Heights, Ocean Heights and the rest, plus all the JBR clusters.

Our therapists know which towers need the visitor registered at reception, which want a guest pass collected at the desk, and which have service-lift rules late at night. Tell us your building at booking and we will handle it — being sent back down to a reception desk is the last thing you need at 34 weeks.

Why people book it

What you should expect
to get out of it.

Relief for the lower back and hips

The two places almost every pregnancy aches. Side-lying lets the therapist reach them properly, which a seated chair massage cannot.

Less swelling in legs and ankles

Gentle lymphatic work drains fluid that pools during the day. Most clients notice the difference by the next morning.

Sleep that actually holds

The most common thing we hear is that the night after a session was the first proper sleep in weeks.

Post-birth recovery, at your pace

After delivery the aches move to the neck, shoulders and upper back from feeding and carrying. That is what a postnatal session works on.

You do not have to go anywhere

No car, no parking, no lift, no waiting room. That matters more at 34 weeks than at any other time.

The baby can be in the room

For postnatal sessions, most of our clients have the baby right there. That is completely normal and we work around it.

How it works

From message to massage.

No app, no account, no prepayment — the whole thing runs through one WhatsApp conversation.

01

0–3 min · Setup

Table up, pillows and bolsters arranged, room warmed, lights down.

02

3–8 min · A proper conversation

How many weeks, how you are sleeping, where it aches, any complications, whether your doctor has cleared massage. This takes longer than our other treatments and it should.

03

8–20 min · Settling into side-lying

Pillow under the bump, one between the knees, one supporting the top arm. We adjust until you are genuinely comfortable, then start.

04

20–45 min · Lower back, hips and glutes

The main event. Slow, steady, medium pressure through the areas carrying the load.

05

45–55 min · Legs, ankles and feet

Light draining strokes towards the heart. Never deep pressure on the calves.

06

55–60 min · Shoulders, neck and scalp

Turn to the other side or stay put, whichever is easier. Get up slowly at the end.

Honest advice

Book this — or don’t.

We would rather tell you to book something else than take a booking that will not help. If in doubt, message us and describe what you are feeling.

Book this if…

  • You are past 12 weeks and your doctor is happy for you to have a massage
  • Your lower back or hips have started aching and nothing is helping
  • Your legs and ankles swell by the end of the day
  • You have not slept properly in weeks
  • You have had the baby and your neck and shoulders have taken over from your back
  • You would rather not travel to a spa at this stage

Choose another if…

  • You are in the first trimester — we do not massage before 12 weeks
  • Your doctor has not cleared massage, or has advised against it
  • You have pre-eclampsia, high blood pressure, or sudden swelling in the face or hands
  • You have a DVT or history of blood clots — clot risk is raised in pregnancy and after birth
  • You have vaginal bleeding, a placenta complication, or any sign of early labour
  • You had a C-section less than six weeks ago, or your scar is not fully healed

Afterwards

Getting the most
out of the hour.

What you do in the day after a session decides how long it holds. None of it is complicated.

  • Get up slowly | Side-lying for an hour then standing quickly can leave you light-headed. Sit on the edge first.
  • Drink water normally | Nothing to flush out, but people forget.
  • Expect to sleep | Almost everyone does. Book it in the evening and let it happen.
  • Some extra trips to the bathroom | Normal after leg work. The fluid has to go somewhere.
  • Mild soreness is not expected | This is a gentle treatment. If you ache the next day, tell us and we will go lighter.
  • Tell us straight away if | You have any cramping, tightening, bleeding, or reduced movement from the baby after a session. Then call your doctor.

Questions

Before you book.

When can I start prenatal massage?

After 12 weeks. We do not massage during the first trimester. That is a precaution rather than a proven risk, but it is standard practice and we stick to it.

When can I start postnatal massage after birth?

After a straightforward vaginal delivery, most women are comfortable from around two weeks. After a C-section, wait until at least six weeks and until your doctor has confirmed the scar has healed. If you are unsure, ask your doctor rather than us.

Do I need my doctor to approve it?

For a normal pregnancy, most doctors are happy with massage after 12 weeks. If you have any complication at all, or a history of one, please ask them first. We will also ask you at booking.

How will I lie?

On your side, with pillows supporting the bump, between your knees and under your top arm. From about 20 weeks lying flat on your back is uncomfortable and not recommended, so side-lying is what we use throughout.

Do you use a table with a hole for the bump?

No, and deliberately. Those tables look reassuring but they let the bump hang, which puts strain on the round ligaments and lower back. Side-lying with proper pillow support is safer and more comfortable.

How much is prenatal massage in Dubai?

AED 400 for 60 minutes at your home or hotel, AED 550 for 90. Travel, the table, pillows, linen and oil are included, with no call-out fee.

Will my therapist be female?

Yes. We match every client with a therapist of the same gender as standard, so a female client gets a female therapist. It is not something you have to request.

Do you use essential oils?

Not by default. Several essential oils are not recommended in pregnancy, so we use an unscented carrier oil unless you specifically ask and we have checked what is suitable.

Can the baby be in the room for a postnatal session?

Yes, and usually is. Feed, settle, pause, carry on — the therapist will work around it. Nobody expects an hour of silence.

How quickly can a therapist reach me?

20-30 minutes across Dubai Marina, JBR, Bluewaters and Emaar Beachfront.

How much space do you need?

About two metres of clear floor. A living room or bedroom is fine. We bring the table and all the pillows.

Is it safe if I have swelling in my legs?

Mild swelling that builds through the day is normal and gentle leg work helps. Sudden swelling, especially in the face or hands, can be a sign of pre-eclampsia — do not book a massage, call your doctor.

Is your service strictly professional?

Yes. This is a therapeutic massage service only, provided by DHA-registered and background-checked therapists, with same-gender matching as standard.

Are you open late?

Open 24 hours, every day, with no late-night surcharge. Evening bookings are the most popular for this treatment.
