Dubai · Oil massage at home

Oil massage in Dubai, at home: warm oil, long strokes, and your own shower afterwards.

An oil massage is the classic full-body treatment: warmed oil on the skin, long strokes that run the length of a muscle, and pressure set to you rather than to a routine. We deliver it to your apartment, hotel suite or villa across Dubai Marina, JBR, Bluewaters, Emaar Beachfront and Palm Jumeirah, in 60, 90 or 120 minutes, for AED 400 excluding VAT.

The part other services skip is the oil itself: which oil, how warm, how much, and what happens to it when the hour is over. This page covers all of that.

What it is

What an oil massage is, in plain words.

Oil massage is a method, not a brand. The therapist applies a thin layer of warmed oil and works the body with gliding, kneading and rolling strokes. The oil lets her hands move along the muscle without dragging the skin, which is what makes long, continuous strokes possible. Without oil the same work is done through clothing, with compression and stretching — that is a Thai massage.

Three treatments on our menu are oil massages. They differ in emphasis, not in price.

Swedish massage — the standard oil massage. Light to medium pressure, the whole body in one sequence, unscented or lightly scented oil. If you just want “an oil massage”, this is it.

Aromatherapy massage — oil massage with a chosen scent. The same strokes, with an essential-oil blend picked for the hour: something brighter in the morning, lavender or sandalwood late at night.

Hot stone massage — oil massage with heat. Warmed basalt stones rest on the back and are used in the therapist’s hands, so the tissue releases before pressure arrives.

Hot oil, or warm oil? Most pages in Dubai sell a “hot oil massage”. Hot is the wrong word: oil that is actually hot burns, and oil that is cold undoes the first ten minutes, especially in a bedroom at 21 degrees. Our therapists carry a small portable warmer, bring the oil to roughly body temperature, and test it on their own forearm first. If you prefer it warmer, say so at the start.

Oil does not mean soft. The oil changes how the hands move, not how deep they go. A therapist can work firmly through oil with forearms and elbows; that is what a deep tissue massage is, and it is also an oil massage. Tell us the pressure you want, from light to firm, and she checks it again in the first five minutes.

Why at home

The part a spa cannot offer.

The reason an oil massage works better at home is what happens after it.

The oil stays on. In a spa you dress and leave within minutes. At home you can leave it on your skin for an hour, or all night, which is when it does the most for dry skin.

Your own shower. When you are ready, you shower in your own bathroom with your own products, not a shared cubicle with a queue.

Nothing of yours gets stained. The therapist brings the table, fresh laundered linen and towels. Oil goes on our linen, not on your sheets, sofa or robe.

Straight to bed. No lobby, no valet, no drive home through Marina traffic undoing the calm.

What it helps with. Everyday muscle tension across the shoulders, lower back and legs. Dry skin from air conditioning that runs cold all year. Winding down: a steady rhythm, warmth and quiet for an hour does more for sleep than most people expect, which is why evening and late-night sessions are our most common oil massage bookings.

What it will not do. It does not remove toxins, it does not “boost immunity”, and it does not treat an injury. If something is sharp, swollen or getting worse, that is a doctor or physiotherapist, not us.

How the session runs

From the doorbell to the shower, in four steps.

01

Before she arrives

Clear two square metres of floor and turn the air conditioning down a little. She arrives in plain professional attire with the table, linen, towels, oil and warmer. Setup takes ten minutes.

02

The first five minutes

She asks where you feel tight, how firm you like the pressure, and whether you want to talk. You undress to your comfort level and lie under a towel; only the area being worked on is uncovered.

03

The session

A full body oil massage runs back and shoulders first, then legs, arms, feet, and the neck and scalp to finish. In 90 minutes she can stay on the two areas you flagged.

04

After

She packs the table and linen and leaves you where you are. Drink some water. Shower when you want to, or leave the oil on until morning.

Who performs it

Four therapists oil massage is the base of.

Every therapist on the team does oil massage. These four are the usual choice for it. All are DHA-registered, licence-checked and insured; ask for any of them by name at no extra cost and we confirm who is coming before she sets off.

The oils we bring

Four plain carrier oils, and what happens to them after.

  • Sweet almond

Our default. Light, slightly nourishing, absorbs within an hour. Not for anyone with a nut allergy.

  • Grapeseed

Thinner, faster to absorb, no scent. The one we use for nut allergies or when you want nothing left on the skin.

  • Fractionated coconut

Stays liquid, very light, mildly moisturising. Good for dry skin after sun or chlorine.

  • Fragrance-free hypoallergenic

For sensitive or reactive skin. Ask for it when you book. Essential oils are only ever blended into a carrier at low concentration, never applied neat.

  • Your sheets stay clean

The oil goes on our linen and towels, which we bring and take away. Your bed, sofa and robe are untouched.

  • Shower when you like

Leaving the oil on for an hour or overnight does the most for dry skin. Showering straight away is fine too.

Good to know

Oil massage Dubai: your questions.

Is oil massage the same as Swedish massage?

Almost. Swedish massage is the most common kind of oil massage: light to medium pressure, the whole body, oil so the strokes glide. Book "an oil massage" with us and a Swedish session is what you get, unless you ask for scent (aromatherapy) or heat (hot stone).

Is it a hot oil massage?

The oil is warmed to roughly body temperature with a portable warmer and tested on the therapist's forearm first. Warm on the skin, not hot. If you prefer it warmer, say so.

Which oil do you use?

Sweet almond by default; grapeseed, fractionated coconut or a fragrance-free hypoallergenic oil on request. Tell us about allergies when you book.

Will my sheets get stained?

No. The therapist brings a table, fresh linen and towels. The oil goes on our linen, not your bed.

Should I shower before or after?

Before is nice but not necessary. After is up to you: leaving the oil on for an hour or overnight is better for dry skin, showering straight away is fine if you prefer.

Can an oil massage be firm?

Yes. Oil changes the glide, not the depth. Ask for firm pressure and the therapist works with forearms and elbows. For very firm, specific work, book deep tissue.

What do I wear?

You undress to your comfort level and stay covered by a towel throughout. Only the area being worked on is uncovered. Underwear stays on.

How much is an oil massage in Dubai?

Spa and home prices in Dubai run from about AED 150 to 500 for an hour. Ours is AED 400 for 60 minutes excluding VAT, the same as every treatment we offer, with travel, table, linen and oil included.

When should I not book one?

With a fever, flu or skin infection, or on sunburnt skin — wait a few days. With a nut allergy, book normally and tell us; we switch oils. In pregnancy, book it as a prenatal massage with Emmy from the second trimester; hot stones are not used. For a fresh injury, see a doctor first.

Can I book at night, or for two people?

Yes to both. We are open 24 hours, seven days a week, at the same price. Couples sessions bring two therapists and two tables for AED 800 per 60 minutes.
