Filipino massage in Dubai: traditional Hilot, warm coconut oil, at your door.

Hilot is the traditional massage of the Philippines. The therapist first feels along your back, shoulders and legs to find where the tension sits, then works it out with warm coconut oil, steady kneading and long strokes. We bring it to your apartment, hotel or villa in Dubai Marina, JBR, Bluewaters, Emaar Beachfront or Palm Jumeirah. 60, 90 or 120 minutes, AED 400 excluding VAT.

It feels familiar to anyone who grew up with it, and it is easy to like if you did not.

Two meanings

What “Filipino massage” means.

People use “Filipino massage” in two ways.

A massage by a Filipino therapist. Many spas in Dubai use “Philippine massage” simply to mean a full-body oil massage given by a Filipino therapist. If that is what you want, any of our oil massages will feel familiar.

Hilot, the traditional technique. Hilot is the Filipino word for massage, and the healer who gives it is the manghihilot. It has its own way of working, and that is what this page is about.

How Hilot works. The therapist starts by feeling along the muscles for spots that are tight and cold, called lamig. She then works those spots with warm virgin coconut oil, using kneading, gentle rocking and long strokes that follow the muscle. Pressure is usually medium: firmer than a Swedish massage, not as deep as deep tissue.

Banana leaves. Traditionally, warmed banana leaves are laid on the back at the end to hold the heat in. At home we use a warm towel, which does the same job.

Honest limits

What we do not do.

Traditional Hilot covers more than massage. In the Philippines a manghihilot may also treat sprains, set bones and work on pregnant women. We do none of that.

No bone-setting or diagnosis. Our therapists find tight muscles by touch. They do not diagnose injuries or put joints back in place. For a sprain, a fall or a possible fracture, see a doctor.

No abdominal massage in pregnancy, ever. Pregnant clients book a prenatal massage instead: side-lying, fully supported, with a certified therapist.

No healing claims. Hilot eases muscle tension and helps you relax. We do not claim it balances energy, removes toxins or treats illness.

Good to know

Filipino massage Dubai: your questions.

What is Filipino massage?

Usually it means Hilot, the traditional massage of the Philippines: tension found by touch, then worked with warm coconut oil, kneading and rocking. Some spas also use it to mean any massage by a Filipino therapist.

What is a Hilot massage like?

Medium pressure, warm coconut oil and a slower pace. The therapist spends the first minutes feeling for tight spots, then works them rather than following a fixed routine.

Is Hilot the same as Swedish massage?

No. Swedish uses even, flowing strokes over the whole body. Hilot searches for tight spots first and works them with kneading and rocking, usually a little firmer.

Can Hilot fix a sprain or a bad back?

We do not treat injuries or set bones. Hilot can ease muscle tension in the back. For a sprain, a fall or sharp pain, see a doctor first.

Can I have Hilot when pregnant?

Not this treatment. Book a prenatal massage instead. We never massage the abdomen during pregnancy.

How much is a Filipino massage in Dubai?

AED 400 for 60 minutes excluding VAT, AED 420 including it. 90 minutes is AED 550 and 120 minutes AED 680. Travel, table, linen and oil are included.

Which oil do you use?

Warm virgin coconut oil, the traditional choice. If you are allergic, we switch to grapeseed or a fragrance-free oil.

Do you use banana leaves?

No. A warm towel on the back does the same job at home.

Can I book Hilot at my hotel?

Yes. We visit hotels across Dubai Marina, JBR, Bluewaters, Emaar Beachfront and Palm Jumeirah. Share the hotel and room number when you book.

Can I book at night?

Yes. We are open 24 hours, every day, at the same price.
