The treatment
What Signature Deep Tissue actually is.
Deep tissue is the treatment people ask for most and understand least. It is not simply “harder” — it is slower. Your therapist works layer by layer through the back, shoulders, neck and hips, waiting for the tissue to release rather than forcing it, so the change holds for days instead of hours.
The first two minutes are a conversation: where it hurts, how you sleep, what your week looked like, and how much pressure you actually want. From there the session is built around the two or three areas that need it, not spread thinly across the whole body.
Who books this
Desk workers with a locked upper back. Gym and marathon regulars in recovery weeks. Anyone who has just come off a long-haul flight and cannot turn their head properly.
Afterwards
Drink water, keep the room warm, and avoid a heavy training session for twenty-four hours. Mild tenderness the next morning is normal; sharp pain is not, and it means the pressure was wrong — tell your therapist during the session, not after.
Why people book it
What you should expect
to get out of it.
Stubborn tension actually releases
Slow, layered pressure gives the tissue time to let go, which is why the change holds for days instead of hours.
Built around two or three areas
Rather than covering the whole body thinly, the hour goes where your week put the tension.
Recovery between training days
Firm work through legs, glutes and lower back supports circulation and helps you train again sooner.
Pressure you control, checked out loud
Your therapist checks at ten, thirty and fifty minutes. Nothing escalates without you saying so.

Afterwards
Getting the most
out of the hour.
What you do in the day after a session decides how long it holds. None of it is complicated.
- Drink 500ml of water in the hour afterwards
- Keep the room warm and stay still for ten minutes
- Skip heavy training for twenty-four hours
- Mild tenderness the next morning is normal; sharp pain is not — tell us
- A warm shower helps; a hot bath in the first two hours does not
Case notes
Three bookings,
three different problems.
What people came to Signature Deep Tissue with, and what changed. Names are shortened and buildings named with permission.
-
Three physios had missed it
A knot under the right shoulder blade that two spas and three physiotherapists had worked around. Anya found it in the first four minutes and then stayed there for most of the hour rather than moving on to cover the rest of the back.
-
Eleven hours at a desk
Neck tension that had started producing headaches by Wednesday every week. Booked on a Sunday to reset before the week rather than to recover from it — which turned out to be the difference. Now a standing fortnightly slot.
-
Mid-marathon block
Legs completely flat six weeks out from a marathon. Asked for legs and lower back only, and got exactly that — no polite full-body tour to use up the hour.
Questions
Before you book.
Will it hurt?
It should feel like strong, workable pressure — never sharp. Say the word and your therapist eases off immediately; the release comes from time under pressure, not from pain.
Sixty or ninety minutes?
Ninety, if the tension is stubborn. Sixty is spent finding and warming the area; the extra half hour is where the release usually happens.
Can I ask for one area only?
Yes. A whole hour on the upper back and shoulders is a common request and often the best use of the session.
Will I be sore afterwards?
Mildly, for a day, in the way you are after good training. If it is more than that, the pressure was too much — tell us and we will note it for next time.
